Media event to discuss transportation investments in proposed Snohomish County budget set for Sept 9
EVERETT, Wash., Sept. 3, 2026 – Snohomish County Public Works invites local media to a special press conference to highlight transportation investments included in the recently released budget from County Executive Dave Somers.
The budget includes funding from the Transportation Benefit District and associated vehicle license fees, which were approved by the County Council. The new revenue source supports maintenance and operations of the county road network and allows Public Works to continue work on grant-funded projects that required local match dollars. One such project, scour mitigation on Snohomish River Bridge 1, will be highlighted during the invite-only event.
Event plans include remarks from elected officials and infrastructure stakeholders. Invited attendees include Deputy County Executive Kent Patton, Council Vice Chair Sam Low, and representatives from the Master Builders Association and the Association of General Contractors.
There will be time after remarks for media questions and/or interviews.
